Your Defense

Work the rods for 15 seconds. Then shoot against it.

Record a defense

Work the goalie and the 2-bar for 15 seconds, a finger on each. Then shoot against it, or share it so everyone can.

Go a little slow and make every move exact. Play it back faster for a beginner, an amateur or a pro goalie.

Everyone’s defenses

Recorded by players and shared with everyone. Pick the shot you’re working on and play one.

    Your defenses

      Throw it out?

      Both takes go.

      What the settings do

      Defenses

Yours are the defenses you’ve made. Everyone’s are the ones other players have shared, with the maker’s name on each. Turn on as many as you like: they run in order, one a rep, the way the chips sit, then round again. Each runs exactly 15 seconds, the time you get on the 3-bar.

      Recording

Both men at once, a finger on each: drag the goalie in the top of the goal and the 2-bar in the bottom, anywhere in his lane. Ready starts with your first finger; after Begin they follow you for 15 seconds. Lift a finger and that man holds where he is. Redo it, or redo one man while the other plays, until it looks like the guy you’re copying. Record it a little slow so every move is exact, then play it back faster: a beginner’s goalie, an amateur’s, a pro’s.

Pick the shot it defends (Pull, Push, Snake, All shots or Other), so players find it on everyone’s list, and save it: it’s on your account. Turn on Share it with everyone and every player can practice against it, with your name on it. Share it or keep it private later from Your defenses. Delete it any time; if it’s open, it comes off everyone’s list too.

      Speed

How fast your defense plays. 1× is the way you recorded it. Recorded a little slow, turn it up and the goalie goes from a beginner to an amateur to a pro. Every rep still runs the 3-bar’s 15 seconds: faster, the men run through it and back again; slower, you get the first part of it.

      Reps

How many reps in a set: 10, 25 or 50. Each rep runs Ball in position, Ready, Begin, then the drill. The screen stays awake while it plays.

      Table

The table you play on. Tables aren’t quite the same size: the men’s feet, the ball and the goal differ by a few millimetres, so the room a ball has to split the defense changes a little. The goal always fills the screen; the ball and the men are drawn to that table’s sizes.

An estimate is a size the maker doesn’t publish: the norm for tournament tables.

        Sound

Speaks the cues and the answer out loud in your phone’s voice, so your eyes can stay on the table. On an iPhone, turning it on wakes the voice.

        Full screen

⛶ fills the screen with the goal. Prop the phone sideways above the goal, and ✕ to come back. On an iPhone, Safari keeps its bar on screen; open Foos App from your Home Screen and the goal gets all of it.
