One Look

The defense shows for a blink. Shoot the hole you saw.

Prop the phone over the goal and set the ball. After Begin, a real defense shows for a blink and goes dark. Shoot the hole that was open, then the screen shows it.

What the settings do

Shot

The shot you’re practising from the 3-bar. The men defend it the way a typical defense does, and the words follow the shot:

  • Pull Straight · Middle · Long
  • Snake Push side · Middle · Pull side
  • Push Long · Middle · Straight

How long the defense shows

1 s, ½ s or ¼ s. The shorter the look, the more you have to read in one glance.

Reps

How many reps in a set: 10, 25 or 50. Each rep runs Ball in position, Ready, Begin, then the drill. The screen stays awake while it plays.

Table

The table you play on. Tables aren’t quite the same size: the men’s feet, the ball and the goal differ by a few millimetres, so the room a ball has to split the defense changes a little. The goal always fills the screen; the ball and the men are drawn to that table’s sizes.

An estimate is a size the maker doesn’t publish: the norm for tournament tables.

    Sound

Speaks the cues and the answer out loud in your phone’s voice, so your eyes can stay on the table. On an iPhone, turning it on wakes the voice.

    Full screen

⛶ fills the screen with the goal. Prop the phone sideways above the goal, and ✕ to come back. On an iPhone, Safari keeps its bar on screen; open Foos App from your Home Screen and the goal gets all of it.
