What the settings do

Shot

The shot you’re practising from the 3-bar. The men defend it the way a typical defense does, and the words follow the shot:

  • Pull Straight · Middle · Long
  • Snake Push side · Middle · Pull side
  • Push Long · Middle · Straight

Defenses

How the men move. Each is a way real players work the 2-bar and the goalie. Turn on more than one to mix them: the defense changes without warning, holding each for 4 to 15 seconds, sometimes much longer.

    Speed

How fast the men move. 1× is the defense at its own pace. ¾× is slower, for learning to read it; 1½×, 2× and 3× push your reactions.

    Table

The table you play on. Tables aren’t quite the same size: the men’s feet, the ball and the goal differ by a few millimetres, so the room a ball has to split the defense changes a little. The goal always fills the screen; the ball and the men are drawn to that table’s sizes.

An estimate is a size the maker doesn’t publish: the norm for tournament tables.

      Full screen

⛶ fills the screen with the goal. Prop the phone sideways above the goal, and ✕ to come back. On an iPhone, Safari keeps its bar on screen; open Foos App from your Home Screen and the goal gets all of it.
